Privacy Policy
Smart Stock Display (the “App”) manages product ordering in your Shopify store based on stock availability.
Data we collect
The App accesses only the following data, through the Shopify Admin API:
- Store identity and session data (Shopify OAuth)
- Product data (title, tags, inventory quantity, publication status)
- Collection data (order, product list)
- Inventory level updates (webhooks)
We do not access or store any customer, order or payment data. The permissions the App requests cover products and inventory only.
Product and collection contents are not stored permanently — they are only processed in memory during an operation. Two kinds of records are kept in the database:
- Shopify session records — the OAuth access token and the shop domain.
- Saved collection positions — when a product runs out of stock and is moved to the end of a collection, its previous manual position is stored so the product can be returned to that exact slot once it is back in stock. Fields stored: shop domain, collection ID, product ID, position number, and the time the record was saved.
How we use the data
- Adding or removing the
sold-outtag on products that run out of stock - Updating product order in manual collections
- Reacting automatically to stock changes through webhooks
Data is never shared with third parties, sold, or used for advertising.
Data retention and deletion
When the App is uninstalled (the app/uninstalled webhook) all records belonging to that store are deleted: session records and saved collection positions. The same deletion runs as a fallback on the shop/redact webhook, which Shopify sends 48 hours after uninstall.
Saved position numbers are also deleted as soon as a product comes back in stock and has been returned to its original slot.
For customers/data_request and customers/redact requests there is no record to return or erase, because the App never processes any customer data.
